An ECFR report indicates that
Europeans are pessimistic about the outcome of the war. An
average of 10% of Europeans in 12 countries believe Ukraine will
win. Twice as many people anticipate a Russian victory.
Respondents in three countries - Poland, Portugal, and Sweden -
express a clear preference for helping Ukraine reclaim its
territory. However, in five other countries - Austria, Greece,
Hungary, Italy, and Romania - people prefer their governments to
pressure Kyiv to accept a settlement. Meanwhile, in France,
Germany, the Netherlands, and Spain, the public is more divided
on this point.
