Covid: Croatia at the top in EU for deaths per million
In 2021 12,000 more than in the pre-pandemic year

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, FEB 7 - Croatia ranked first in the
European Union for the number of COVID deaths compared to the
population in the past week, with 73 deaths per million people,
surpassing Bulgaria, which recorded 68 deaths per million
people, the Croatian daily Jutarnji List wrote on Sunday. In
2021, there were 63,611 deaths in Croatia, or 12,000 more than
in the pre-pandemic year. The increase in the number of deaths
was especially pronounced in the over-65 age group. (ANSA).
