EU allowed Berlin to give aid to acquire German Gazprom
Commission's yes to €225.6m scheme
12 November, 16:06 (ANSA) - BRUSSELS, 12 NOV - The European Commission has
approved a €225.6 million German aid measure to support Sefe
Securing Energy for Europe Gmbh, formerly Gazprom Germania GmbH,
currently under German trusteeship. The measure will allow the
German state to take 100 percent ownership of Sefe GmbH,
replacing Gazprom Germania GmbH, to safeguard the security of
gas supply to the German economy. The EC announced.
Following Russia's aggression against Ukraine and Gazprom's subsequent gas supply disruption, Sefe Gmbh suffered severe losses. The action will enable the German state to take 100 percent ownership of Sefe GmbH to replace Gazprom Export LCC, a Russian majority state-owned company. (ANSA).
