(ANSA) - BELGRADE, DEC 21 - Slovenia will make a final
investment decision on the construction of a second unit at the
Krsko nuclear power plant by 2027, the specialised portal
SeeNews reported, quoting information from local media. However,
"if things get tighter in the market, we will be under pressure
to make that decision tomorrow," said Danijel Levicar, Chief
Operating Officer of the Slovenian state-run energy group
Gen-Energija. Levicar noted that a new reactor at Krsko "would
significantly ease electricity prices." Krsko. co-owned by
Gen-Energija and Croatia's Hrvatska elektroprivreda, currently
covers 40% of the Slovenian energy production. This year,
Ljubljana "issued an energy permit for the construction of a
second reactor unit at Krsko, clearing the way for the
implementation of administrative procedures and preparation of
documentation for investment decision-making on the project,"
SeeNews recalled. (ANSA).
