14 countries join NATO air defence initiative
Among them Germany and several Eastern Europe countries
13 October, 13:29 (ANSA) - BELGRADE, OCT 13 - The defense ministers of 14
countries signed a declaration of intent to join NATO's joint
air and missile defense through the European Skyshield
Initiative (ESI) on the sidelines of a NATO meeting in Brussels,
according to Slovenian news agency STA, citing German DPA. In
addition to Germany and Slovenia, the document was signed by the
United Kingdom, Slovakia, Norway, Latvia, Hungary, Bulgaria,
Belgium, Czech Republic, Finland, Lithuania, Netherlands, and
Romania, with Estonia expressing interest in joining. (ANSA).
