Health and Wellness Week is set to
run from January 27 to February 2 at Expo 2020 Dubai, the eighth
such thematic week at the world's fair.
"In order to be really healthy we must also be happy," said UAE
International Cooperation Minister and Expo Director-General
Reem Al Hashimy, presenting what is the third-last themed week
at the Expo.
"These two vital states of being human are linked so deeply and
indissolubly. Unless we join forces to plan an inclusive and
COVID-pandemic-proof global health system, we cannot overcome
the difficulties laid bare by COVID-19.
"We must work to transform, in an equitable way, the way in
which we access health assistance and strengthen the response to
the pandemic, as well as aiming for a balance between physical
and mental wellbeing".
The eighth thematic week has been organized in association with
the Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health
Sciences (MBRU) and the World Health Organization (WHO).
It will explore the relationship between mental and physical
wellness and the increasingly important role of technology in
the construction of the society of the future.
