Autovie, 'black dot' traffic on the A4 Saturday

Possible traffic jams towards Venice. 'Red dot' on Sunday

26 August, 17:15
(ANSA) - TRIESTE, 26 AGO - Tomorrow will be the last 'black dot' Saturday on the Autovie Venete highway network for this summer season. According to forecasts, traffic will be heavy tomorrow, especially from mid-morning to late afternoon, and even critical, with queues forming along the western carriageway, i.e., from Trieste to Venice. About 175,000 vehicles will be traveling along the highway.

As happened last Saturday, which recorded 177,000 vehicles, the counter-exodus of vacationers returning from Croatia, Slovenia, and the Friulian and Veneto seaside resorts will coincide with the previous departures for summer destinations, as well as sea commuters.

In the spotlight will be the Lisert barrier, with 40,000 vehicles (including entries and exits) expected to pass down the highway, Latisana (a total of almost 30,000 cars), and San Donà (nearly 20,000).

Autovie Venete underlined situation is likely to improve as early as Saturday evening and throughout the day on Sunday, which is still under a "red dot." Slowdowns could always occur at the Lisert barrier and the entrance to the Latisana toll gate. Heavy vehicles will not be allowed to travel from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow and from 7 a.m.

to 10 p.m. Sunday. (ANSA).
