(ANSA) - TRIESTE, 14 DIC - Duisburger Hafen AG (Duisport), the biggest intermodal terminal operator in the world, today took a stake in the logistics hub of the Friuli Venezia Region Giulia with an investment that saw the acquisition of 15% of the shares of the Trieste Interport.

The regional financial holding company Friulia S.p.A., which held 46.99% of the share capital, will continue to keep the relative functionality (31.99%) of the Interporto group.

The partnership was signed today in Trieste by Erich Staake, CEO of Duisport, Federica Seganti, president of Friulia, and Zeno D'Agostino, president of the Eastern Adriatic Sea Port Authority, in the presence of the FVG regional councilor for Infrastructure and Transport Graziano Pizzimenti. "Through this agreement - a statement reads - Friulia helps our region make the infrastructural system of FVG a key hub for shipping goods.

A partnership that guarantees development to the Interports thanks to a primary international partner and also allows the port of Trieste to continue its path of growth and internationalization by building alliances with the leading European ports." (ANSA).
