(ANSA) - BELGRADE, SEP 16 - Twenty-two-year-old Italian chess
player Lorenzo Lodici (rating 2559 points), who represented the
Italian national team at the last Olympics, and 20-year-old
Francesco Sonis are among the stars of the 26th edition of the
Hit Open 2022 chess tournament, to take place from 16 and 22
September in Nova Gorica, Slovenia. More than 100 chess players
from 23 countries worldwide, including India, Singapore, and the
United States, are expected to participate in the tournament.
The organizer is the local Chess Club, supporting Hit company of
Nova Gorica as a partner and sponsor. Among the players
currently registered are nine grandmasters from Italy, Denmark,
Slovenia, Austria, Serbia, and Croatia. (ANSA).
