Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, who has been visiting the Italo-Albanian towns of Calabria since yesterday, stopped in Frascineto this morning. The Albanian premier was welcomed in the hall of the City Council.

Doing the honors was Mayor Angelo Catapano. Present were the premieres the citizens of Acquaformosa, Civita Spezzano Albanese and Vaccarizzo Albanese and the vice president of the provincial administration of Cosenza Giancarlo Lamensa. "For us it is an important moment," Rama said in greeting the community, "to save this heritage represented by the Arberesh world. We are committed in that direction, to defend our common belonging." The premier welcomed the proposal made yesterday by the eparch of Lungro, Monsignor Donato Oliverio, to twin Italo-Albanian municipalities with those of Albania. Edi Rama, in the course of his speech, also pledged to provide educational materials in the Albanian language, to local kindergartens as well as to foster and intensify cultural exchanges between the Italo-Albanian and Albanian communities.
