Serbia: more than 100,000 Russians now live in the country

And some 18,000 Ukrainians

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, NOV 16 - According to Serbian state TV (RTS) and other Serbian media such as regional television N1, approximately 18,000 Ukrainians have fled to Serbia since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, while over 100,000 Russians have registered their stay in Serbia. According to the public media service, 600 Russian and Ukrainian students have enrolled in Serbian schools, and the Russians and Ukrainians have not only changed the demographic picture of Serbia, but also the labor and real estate markets. Apartment rental prices in Belgrade almost tripled in the past two months, while Russian nationals told Beta that it is practically impossible to rent an apartment in downtown Belgrade for under 1,000 Euro per month.
