Culture minister calls to convert island Saints Cyrus and Juliet
20 August, 18:37The new cultural site on the island will bring exceptional added value not only to Sozopol, the Black Sea region and Bulgaria, but also to Europe and the world, Minekov said.
Bulgaria and the United Arab Emirates will sign a memorandum of understanding on strengthening their social, cultural and economic partnership, thanks to which it will be possible to intensify work on turning the island of St. Cyriac and Juliet into a world arts center.
Under the project, which has been pending for years, St.
Cyriac and Juliet Island will become a space for the presentation of cultural heritage, creative work and the exchange of cultural and creative projects. The creation of a world arts center on the island aims at establishing Bulgaria as a leading factor in intercultural dialogue with various countries of the world and inclusion in the network linking the Louvre in Paris and the Louvre Abu Dhabi. During the meeting, Minister Minekov and the ambassador stressed the excellent bilateral relations and the enormous potential for deepening contacts, particularly in the field of culture and the arts.
They spelled out details of the upcoming signing of a memorandum of understanding between Abu Dhabi's Department of Culture and Tourism and Bulgaria's Ministry of Culture. The ambassador stressed the excellent cultural, political and economic relations between Bulgaria and the UAE and said that joint work between the two countries continues. He expressed the hope that the talks would also continue on the occasion of a future visit to Abu Dhabi by the Bulgarian Minister of Culture, to whom he extended an invitation. (ANSA-BTA).
