With Croatian and Slovenian counterparts

18 December, 15:24
(ANSA) - TRIESTE, 18 DIC - A summit between the foreign ministers of Italy, Croatia, and Slovenia will be held on Saturday morning in Trieste. One of the issues to be discussed are the Exclusive Economic Zones (EEZ) of the Adriatic. The meeting between Italian foreign minister Luigi Di Maio and his Croatian counterpart Gordan Grlic-Radman as well as Slovenian foreign minister Anze Logar will be held at the prefect's office in Piazza Unita' d'Italia at 11 AM.

During a recent visit to Zagreb, Di Maio had said that ''Italy is preparing regulations to proclaim the exclusive economic zone of the Adriatic. He said at that time that it is ''a step that our Croatian friends are also taking with the aim of securing the highest possible protection of the Adriatic Sea.'' At that time, during a conference with Gordan Grlic Radman, Di Maio had said that it had been decided to ''start talks as soon as possible for the maritime border agreement between our countries, which will help to strengthen our partnership''. Slovenia is also expected to take part in the Trieste meeting. The drawing of maritime borders in these areas will make it possible for each state to have a specific part of the sea exclusively for their use. (ANSA).
