Serbia: in Belgrade marking of 60 years of the Non-Aligned

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, OCT 11 - Representatives of hundreds of countries are gathering in the Serbian capital Belgrade to mark the 60th anniversary of the first conference of the Non-Aligned Movement, hold in the then Yugoslavian capital in 1961. Serbia is currently has the status of the observers in the Movement.

"It is important to maintain the status of the observer, because Belgrade is the birthplace of the Non-Aligned Movement and its name stands next to the name of Josip Broz Tito in every talks with the representatives of the member states of the Non-Aligned Movement" and this "reputation is still alive," said Serbian Foreign Affairs Minister Nikola Selakovic, quoted by local media.
