(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, SEP 24 - After the death of four migrants
from hypothermia and fatigue on the border between Poland and
Belarus, the European Commission urges Warsaw "to ensure that
people on the border have the necessary care and assistance." A
spokesman for the EU executive said, adding that the situation
is "worrying." "The Polish authorities are dealing with a
difficult situation, created by Belarus' attempt to use people
for political purposes," the spokesman acknowledged. "It is
essential for Poland to manage the borders effectively. But all
this activity must not cost human lives." (ANSA).
