Kosovo: crisis, Serbian government meeting with Vucic

A sharp deterioration in relations between Belgrade and Pristina

05 November, 14:26
(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 05 NOV - The Serbian government met in an emergency session this morning to discuss the Kosovo crisis, which shows a significant deterioration in relations between Belgrade and Pristina. President Aleksandar Vucic, who had long talks in Belgrade last night with EU special envoy Miroslav Lajcak, is attending the meeting.

Vucic will also meet the ambassadors of Russia and China and Patriarch Porfirije, along with members of the Synod of the Serbian Orthodox Church. Talks focus on the latest worrisome developments in Kosovo, where the Serbian population rejects the imposition on changing car license plates. At the same time, there is also talk of a proposal from France and Germany to resolve the crisis. However, under indictment is the policy of Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti. According to Belgrade, their latest decisions are openly hostile to the Serbs and have dealt a "mortal blow" to dialogue under the EU mediation. (ANSA).
