(ANSA) - TRIESTE, 08 GEN - BELGRADE, JANUARY 8 - In Kosovo, where early parliamentary elections will take place on February 14, a first poll favors the 'Self-determination' movement (Vetevendosje, opposition) led by former Prime Minister Albin Kurti, at 41.10%, followed by the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) led by the outgoing president Hashim Thaci, at 20.80%. In third place comes the Democratic Alliance of Kosovo (LDK) led by the outgoing premier Avdullah Hoti.

The PiPOS Institute conducted the opinion poll, the regional media reported.

Albin Kurti is a nationalist and strongly anti-Serbian leader and he's known for eccentric and spectacular initiatives such as the one in recent months to spread tear gas several times in the parliament hall to prevent the approval of measures deemed to be against Kosovo's national interests.

The early voting in Kosovo came after the Constitutional Court, accepting a 'Self-determination' appeal, invalidated the vote of confidence won by Hoti's government on June 3 in parliament. The judges considered null and void the decisive vote in favor of a deputy, recently convicted of corruption. In parliament, the speaker, Vjosa Osmani, who assumed the functions of head of state after Thaci's arrest in November for war crimes of the KLA, called early elections on February 14. (ANSA).
