(ANSA) - BERLIN, NOV 3 - On immigration, "we have asked for
only compliance with the rules; we have done so in an official
way, with great politeness but also with great firmness."
Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said in Berlin in an
interview with the Rai. 'With a partner country and a good
interlocutor like Germany, we have to cooperate a lot, then when
there is to give some message, especially on the issue of
immigration, we do it with determination, but to ensure that the
rules are respected. So, for example, we have asked that NGO
ships respect European rules when they rescue someone at sea and
then ask to dock in the nearest ports.' Before traveling to the
G7 Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Muenster, the minister stopped
in Berlin today to attend the Western Balkans Summit at Olaf
Scholz's Chancellery. Also, during the summit, Tajani reiterated
that "we need cooperation among all European countries, but also
with the Balkan countries, to stop illegal immigration because
it risks becoming an increasing problem for all of us." (ANSA).
