(ANSA) - TRIESTE, 07 SET - The world's biggest sailing regatta, together with Europe's fastest marathon: the 54th edition of the Barcolana, was presented today in Berlin at Generali's representative office along with the Generali Berlin Half Marathon, both supported by the insurance company.

"Barcelona, the half marathon, and the Berlin Marathon - said Giulio Benedetti, Country Head of Communications, ESG and Public Affairs at Generali Deutschland - are events that share strong ties with their respective cities but are also increasingly international and attractive." They also "share many values such as diversity and integration, sustainability and prevention through sport." Dean Bassi, sports director of the Sailing Society of Barcola and Grignano (SVBG), and Piero Zecchini, director of Barcolana SRL, presented the different aspects of the event. "Our goal - Bassi summarized - is to welcome all sailing enthusiasts, the public, and our partners to an event that we deeply love and is increasingly inclusive." Already 600 boats registered for the regatta, 5 percent from Austria and Germany. "We will soon present the Barcolana Sea Summit program - Zecchini explained - an event that allows us to reflect on sea health issues.

"Working again on internationalization -added Svbg President Mitja Gialuz - is essential for the event; after the interruption due to the pandemic, we can again contact new audiences and promote Barcolana and the territory.
