(ANSA) - BELGRADE, DEC 30 - The nuclear power plant of Krsko, in Slovenia, did not suffer "any damage" from the earthquake that hit Croatia on Tuesday and it will be reconnected to the national grid this evening, the Krsko Nuclear Power Plant (NEK) said in a statement posted on its official website today.

"After the automatic shutdown of the plant after yesterday's earthquake, the plant's equipment has been systematically inspected and tested. The plant has not suffered any damage, the checked systems are functioning correctly," NEK announced.

"The plant restart and reconnection to the national grid is expected today, at appr. 10.00 pm. Until then, start-up and testing procedures for the reactor and plant systems will take place. We expect the plant to reach 50 per cent capability at night and to operate at full load tomorrow," Krsko's management added. (ANSA).
