(ANSA) - ROME, SEP 27 - Justin Rose told a press Ryder Cup
press conference ahead of the first edition in Italy at Rome
this weekend Wednesday that the event "lights a fire in me.
"For me returning to play the Ryder Cup is an incredible
impetus, it lights a fire inside me. The youngsters on the team
haven't yet felt what this tournament means and it is my task as
a more experienced player to give them a hand.
"That's what I bring to the team," said the 43-year-old English
2013 US Open winner and Olympic 2016 champ, who won the 2018
edition of the Ryder.
This year is Rose's sixth participation in the Cup, which every
two years pits Europe's best against America's best for the
premier team trophy in world golf.
The first Italian edition of the Ryder Cup, and the 44th in all,
takes place from September 30 to October 1 at the Marco Simone
Golf & Country Club just outside Rome. (ANSA).
