Transfer spending by Italian soccer
clubs amounted to $667.7 million in 2021, placing Italy second
in world-player-deals table only to England, where clubs spent a
total of $1.39 billion last year, according to the FIFA Global
Transfer report.
The report said Romelu Lukaku's move from Inter to Chelsea was
the biggest transfer of the year, while Achraf Hakimi's move
from Inter to Paris Saint-Germain was third.
The fifth biggest was AS Roma's signing of England forward Tammy
Abraham from Chelsea.
Amad Diallo's move from Atalanta to Manchester United came
eighth.
