Juve and Italy central defender and
captain Giorgio Chiellini on Wednesday became the fourth Azzurro
to be ruled out of Friday's crunch World Cup qualifying clash
with the Swiss at the Olimpico through injury.
The veteran centre-back joined midfielders Nicolò Zaniolo and
Lorenzo Pellegrini and centre-forward Ciro Immobile in leaving
training camp after knocks.
Chiellini has problems with his hamstrings, Azzurri sources
said.
He will return to Turin.
Lazio striker Immobile on Tuesday left the squad with a problem
to his left calf muscle picked up during Sunday's 3-0 home win
over Salernitana.
Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca has been called up in place
of last year's Golden Boot winner.
No replacement has yet been named for Chiellini.
Italy coach Roberto Mancini said Monday that his players must
not let the pressure of Friday's match get to them.
The Azzurri and Switzerland both have 14 points from six games,
but Mancini's men are top of Group B on goal difference going
into the last two qualifiers.
Italy face Northern Ireland in Belfast on Monday in their last
qualifier.
