A fourth dose of the COVID-19 vaccine
is a "concrete possibility", the head of the Higher Health
Institute (ISS) said Friday.
"A fourth dose of the anti-COVID vaccine is a concrete
possibility" said Franco Locatelli, who is also coordinator of
the government's COVID technical and scientific committee.
Italy is currently giving third dose booster shots amid a fourth
wave of the virus and the recent discovery of the new variant of
concern, Omicron.
Locatelli said Friday that seven million people in Italy had
already had the booster jab.
