Friuli Governor Massimiliano Fedriga
has been assigned a police escort after death threats from
anti-vaxxers angry at his statements in favour of getting the
COVID jab, Trieste's Il Piccolo newspaper said Monday.
Fedriga, who is also president of the conference of regions, has
been under police portection since last week after dozens of
threats from anti-vax circles about his pro-vaccine stance.
Il Piccolo quoted Fedriga as saying "I'm hoping above all for my
family that this situation can be resolved in the shortest time
possible".
Il Piccolo said two police officers are now going everywhere
with the rightwing League party official.
