Ferrari is to forge ahead with the
electrification of its cars, the president of the glamour
sportscar maker, John Elkann told shareholders on Wednesday.
Agnelli heir Elkann hailed the launch of the 296 GTB, a PHEV
hybrid plug-in model with a new V6 engine coupled with an
electric motor.
"It's a car that marks a step forward on our new path of
electrification," he told the AGM.
Elkann said 2021 had been an "extraordinary" years results wise.
He said the carmaker was forging new partnerships to foster more
innovation.
"One example is our collaboration with LoveFrom, a creative
collective led by Jony Ive and Marc Newson, whose world-famous
creativity has been made a common factor with ours in a
complementary way to create products that are even more
distinctive and unique".
