(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 5 - Ukraine welcomes the Vatican peace
initiative on Ukraine and believes the mission of Cardinal
Matteo Zuppi as the pope's emissary will help to find solutions,
Ukrainian ambassador to the Holy See, Andrii Yurash, said
Monday.
"Cardinal Matteo Zuppi began his visit to Ukraine as
Representative of His Holiness," tweeted Yurash.
"Ukraine welcomes the Holy See's interest in the bloody war,
initiated by Russia, and its intentions to deeply understand the
realities. Close knowledge of the consequences of the war will
surely help to find appropriate responses in the name of justice
and peace," he said.
Cardinal Zuppi, President of the Italian Bishops' Conference,
arrived in Kyiv for a two-day peace mission on Monday. (ANSA).
