Luigi Sbarra, the head of the CISL
trade union, said Wednesday that around a million jobs are at
risk in Italy with soaring energy prices and the cost-of-living
crisis having a big impact on business.
"We have complicated months ahead of us, with extremely high
inflation, a probable recession and incredible increases in
energy prices," Sbarra told Mediaset's Tgcom.
"All this can cause clear risks for employment levels.
"We think that almost one million jobs and the survival of
thousands and thousands of firms may be at risk".
Sbarra called for the adoption of a new aid package to help
businesses and households cope before the approval of the 2023
budget law.
