An avalanche buried two skier in the
Italian Alps on Tuesday and they were both pulled out alive, but
then one of them, a 25-year-old Milanese man, died of his
injuries in hospital, local sources said.
The avalanche came down near the Piccolo San Bernardo, above the
town of La Thuile, hitting the two skiers.
One was immediately pulled out alive while rescuers took about
an hour to get the other one out.
Their condition is not yet known.
