(ANSA) - ROME, SEP 27 - The USB trade union on Wednesday
decided to put off until October 9 a local-transport strike
scheduled for this Friday after Transport Minister Matteo
Salvini restricted it from 24 hours to just four hours.
The union said bus, tram underground and local train operators
will walk off the job on October 9 for 24 hours.
"Four hours is not enough, it isn't enough for the workers to
claim their rights", said USB.
As well as being transport minister, Salvini is also deputy
premier and head of the rightwing League party, the second
biggest part of Premier Giorgia Meloni's right-centre-right
coalition government. (ANSA).
