Italy's antitrust authority said
Friday that it has opened procedures against Alitalia and
another airline, Volotea, regarding cancellations during the
coronavirus emergency.
The case regards the sale of tickets that were subsequently
cancelled due to COVID-19 even though they regarded periods in
which government travel restrictions were not in force.
A statement by the authority said both companies offered
customers credit vouchers instead of refunds.
