GDP will grow 3.6% instead of 3.9% previously estimated

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, OCTOBER 9 - The gross domestic product in Bulgaria will grow by 3.6% this year, instead of a 3.9% previously estimated, according to projections of the national ministry of Finance, the specialised portal SeeNews reported.

The lower growth rate is mostly due "to lower-than-projected exports," SeeNews noted, adding that "domestic demand is expected to remain among the major contributors to GDP growth in 2018." According to the Finance ministry estimation, the GDP in Bulgaria will grow by 3.7% in 2019 and 3.5% both in 2020 and 2021. The unemployment is projected to further decrease, from 5.4% currently to 4% in 2021. Foreign direct investments will keep the current pace, at 3.5-3.6% of GDP. (ANSA).
