(ANSA) - ROME, JUNE 27 - After the announcement of the 'Grande
Partenza' of the 103rd Giro d'Italia from Hungary, the first 3
stages were revealed in Budapest today. The race whose leader
wears a pink jersey will start on May 9 (end on May 31), with an
individual 9.5 km long time trial in Budapest. The 2nd section,
for sprinters, is a 193km route from Budapest to Gyor. The 3rd
stage is scheduled for May 3, from Szekesfehervar to Nagykanizsa
(197km).
The Hungarian departure will be the 14th 'Partenza' of the
Giro d'Italia from abroad. The last one was in Jerusalem,
Israel, last year, with three stages, including the time trial.
After Hungary, the 'carovana rosa' will arrive in Sicily. The
riders will get some rest on May 12, but they will get back on
their bikes on May 13, along the roads of the island. (ANSA).
