Gianluca Basile, commissioner
for the 2019 Universiade World University Games, has signed for
the handing off of the Caduti di Brema stadium to the
construction company that was awarded the renovation contract to
complete work to prepare it for the Games, which will take place
in Naples in July.
The stadium is a historic venue situated in the city's Barra
district, and the renovation project is worth 670,000 euros.
Work on the stadium will include a complete replacement of
the playing field with synthetic grass, the installation of a
new lighting system, and maintenance work on the existing locker
rooms.
Organisers said the stadium renovation will prepare it for
use as a training field for soccer teams during the Universiade.
Basile said he is satisfied with the collaboration between
the organising committee and the City of Naples, particularly as
it regards sports venue renovations.
