One in three Italians has a
flutter on lotteries, slot machines or football matches every
now and then while there are 1.5 million "problem gamblers" in
Italy, the Higher Health Institute said Thursday.
The gambling addicts are typically aged between 40 and 64 and
get into debt to pay for their addiction, the report said,
adding that they prefer slot machines.
Some 700,000 young people gamble illegally, the report said.
