A new decree on 'fiscal peace'
sets a jail term of up to six years for those who cheat,
according to a new draft of the measure Wednesday.
"If the peace measure is used for illicit activities there
will be a prison term of up to six years," according to the
draft.
The penalty will be for those who, having chosen to use the
measure, "supply false documents or make communications of data
which do not correspond to the truth", the draft said.
The measure is available for those who have tax arrears of up
to 100,000 euros, provided they have filed income-tax returns.
The government denies widespread claims it is an amnesty for
dodgers.
